You worked hard, lost sleep, spent your time, energy and money and what did the other festivals give you, took your money and sent you a denial decision.
It’s a joke. You did the work, put in the time you should be rewarded for your effort.
The Indi Film Fest is dedicated to give each filmmaker or digital artist a chance to receive an award of merit of completion of your project, no filmmakers are turned down the categories are best director, best cinematographer, editing, screenplay, visual effects, AI and project completion. Awards are also available for actors, crew and cast.
The festival is held in Washington DC, see your film on the large video wall, you and your guest receive free popcorn and refreshment.

IFF Academy
for your projects
The Filmmakers Academy for Young People is held once a month by the Independent Filmmakers Festival (IFF), it
is a free program designed to inspire and educate aspiring young filmmakers. This initiative provides hands-on workshops, expert mentorship, and networking opportunities, helping participants develop storytelling, cinematography, and editing skills. Open to all young creatives, the academy fosters a supportive environment where budding filmmakers can collaborate, experiment, and bring their cinematic ideas to life.
By offering free access to industry professionals and resources, the program ensures that passionate young talents, regardless of background, have the opportunity to explore and grow within the world of filmmaking. It's totally free and seniors are welcome. Many professional volunteers give their time to give tech tips to upcoming filmmakers and digital artists. We welcome you to the Independent Filmmakers Festival (IFF).

The Independent Filmmakers Festival is not only a film festival, we are a community of creative media artists. We offer a variety of programs other festivals don’t.
Monthly programs for students, beginners, and season pros, special training in cinematography, editing, lighting, sound effects and create your AI film, Indi Film Fest provides equipment and software, shoot your first film with a pro producer beside you, edit in Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, and many other software programs.

Free Projects Program
To participate in any of our filmmaker programs email us at info@indifilmfest.org with your name, age and state. Anyone under 18 years old must have a letter with parent consent. Programs are located in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia at parks, company buildings, libraries, and production studios.
Many programs are in our studio or at outdoor locations. Programs are always held in groups with several chaperons, we encourage parents to join us and assist with your child project.
Some programs offer training in green screen and special effects.
IFF welcomes pro filmmakers to assist us with our programs, come join us, show your techniques, give a talk and share your knowledge to upcoming filmmakers, all types of volunteers welcome.
Never made a film before, you got a story? Let IFF help you bring your story to life. From 7 years old to 80, IFF is a home for filmmakers.

How can you support us? It’s very easy, got old equipment you don't need any more, we love it, got an older camera, lights, stands, tripod, any kind is acceptable. We give old equipment a new life with hands on by our filmmakers.
No gear, support us on patron at indifilmfest.org your support helps us purchase supplies to help our programs stay free and support filmmakers projects.
IFF will launch a new video podcast with interviews with filmmakers, digital artist, music creators and of course tech talk, young filmmakers will be able to discuss their new upcoming project and get advice.
Your support can help for field trips, movies, tech production and group trips, not only patron but your time, when you volunteer as a professional filmmaker on our field trips new filmmakers gain from your experience, style and advice to help them complete their projects.
